How a day with us looks like

Breakfast is waiting for you from 9:30 am onwards and will give you all the nutrition and strength you need for the day ahead. Our cook Remani is a lovely and amazing lady, that cooks every meal with care and love. We are sure you gonna taste that too.

In the afternoon at 4 pm Joseph will teach an Asana class where you can learn from the master himself. His 38 years of experience are not only very valuable for deepening your own practice but will support you to become a knowledgeable teacher yourself. Joseph keeps an eye on your progress, corrects your postures and motivates you to try out new asanas and improve your practice.

In the evening after dinner, there’s enough time for you to relax and reflect on the day. Now and then we offer Yoga Nidra sessions to show you new ways of relaxation. Sometimes we surprise you with evening events like a cacao ceremony or sound healing sessions. Sundays are free, and you can do whatever you want. You might go to the beach, try a surf lesson nearby or explore Varkala town. On one of the Sundays, we will take you on an excursion. But that’s going

You wake up before 7 am when the sun starts shining through the palm trees around our house. Maybe you do some morning stretches and drink tea. At seven we meet in the yoga shala. The first class every day is Pranayama. You learn different breathing techniques, their benefits and their purposes from our teacher shaji. Pranayama will help you wake up, purify your system and balance the energy flow in your body.

After that Joyal is going to guide you through an Asana class, where you will study our own composed Hatha yoga sequences that are based on all the knowledge and experience from Joseph himself. The Asana class in the morning is focused on studying the right alignments and how to teach it to others. Joyal gained his knowledge from many different teachers and has an excellent and easy understandable way of teaching.

After a break where you might go to the beach or chill outside, Sunil is studying with you yoga philosophy and the origins of this ancient knowledge. It’s a class where you can ask a lot of question and hear interesting stories from Indian mythology. Sunil is a popular story teller and will make this class funny and interesting for you.

At 1 pm lunch is waiting downstairs, followed by a break where you can relax and have a rest. Maybe you go with your fellows to a coffee shop right around the corner and enjoy a cold juice. At 2 pm you will all gather again in the yoga shala for an Ayurveda, Anatomy or Mantra class, depending on the day. Our doctor Anish is working as an Ayurvedic doctor and can teach out of first-hand experience everything you need to know about the body and its relation to yoga. In mantra classes, you learn in an easy and relaxed way all important mantras that will follow you through the course and on your yoga journey.
