Asana Practice

We have crafted our 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Kerala to focus on one style and teach our students Hatha yoga and Hatha Vinyasa. Our daily asana classes are rooted in traditional Hatha with a modern approach, including both static and dynamic elements. In these sessions, you will learn the foundational alignment principles behind key yoga poses. We’ll explore how to read bodies, spot misalignments, and apply gentle yet effective hands-on adjustments to support students safely in their practice. This is how you’ll begin developing your “yoga teacher’s eye”, learning not just how to perform a posture, but how to guide others into it with clarity and care.

Mantra & Sound

Mantras are sacred sounds or vibrations that help focus the mind and connect us with deeper states of awareness. In this yoga teacher training, you’ll explore the role of sound in yoga, and how mantra practice supports concentration, healing, and inner stillness.

Mantra chanting is also woven into daily practice, used to open and close classes, create a meditative mood, and connect with the spiritual heart of yoga.

Mudras & Bandhas

Mudras and Bandhas are subtle but powerful yogic techniques that work with energy flow, breath control, and inner awareness. These practices deepen your experience of yoga beyond the physical level and prepare the body and mind for meditation and pranayama..

Kriyas are traditional yogic practices designed to cleanse and purify the body, helping prepare it for deeper asana, pranayama, and meditation. These internal cleansing techniques are part of the yogic lifestyle and support both physical health and mental clarity.

Introduction to Ayurveda

Ayurveda is the sister science of Yoga, offering a holistic approach to health, lifestyle, and self-understanding. In this module, you’ll explore the fundamental principles of Ayurveda and how they complement your yoga practice.

The 200h teacher training course covers:

I did my 200h TTC at the end of 2024. It took me a while to write this review because it meant acknowledging that it was over.We were a small group of 7 women. I arrived with a lot of chronic pain in my back pain and shoulder. I received so much support. Joyal is such a pedagogic and gifted teacher. The way he teaches is truly inspiring. He pushed me in many different ways (always mindfully) and by the end of the training I was able to literally stand on my head, while before getting there I was not even able to cut a carrot without crying. The way he and his dad Joseph know the human body is truly exceptional. I felt so safe and seen and it taught me a lot about how most of our boundaries are purely mental. I grew as a person and as a teacher. When I was struggling Joyal shared tips and tricks on how to cope that went far beyond the scope of a yoga teacher, and Joseph checked on me repeatedly to ensure I was ok. I left with a glow that never truly faded even half a year later. It transformed my life and my pain in a way I never thought was possible. The insights I took with me allow me to live every day in much more peace and serenity than ever beforeThank you for such a life changing experience. I cannot wait to come back to this place that will forever feel like it holds a peace of me now. 🤍++ shoutout for Shaji, Dr Anish, Sunil our amazing teachers of pranayama, ayerveda/anatomy and philosophy; Satyam for taking care of us; the women cooking for us delicious meals every day and Biju for the after practice coconuts

I completed the 200hrs Hatha Teacher Training in March and I really enjoyed it! Joyal is an amazing and knowledgeable teacher, explaining postures and adjustments perfectly. His father Joseph is the founder and head teacher, always in a good mood and there to help you go deeper into a pose. The program is intense but your progress is therefore incredible! The guest teachers for the pranayama, mantra, and anatomy classes were also great. There's also an introduction into ayurveda. The home-cooked food was delicious, especially the breakfasts. Before I took the course I wasn't sure if I would want to teach but Joyal, Joseph and the team gave me the confidence, skill and motivation to do so. For that I'm very grateful!

I recently completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Pranam Yoga Joseph. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed into a supportive and inspiring community. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated to their students' growth—not just as teachers but as individuals. The curriculum was well-structured, covering everything from asana practice, alignment and pranayama to philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology. I especially appreciated the emphasis on mindfulness, self-awareness, and the deeper aspects of yoga beyond just the physical postures. This school truly stands out for its authentic approach, where a deep love for the practice is at the heart of everything they do. I highly recommend it.
